Who is Samantha Thomas?
Educational Advocate & Consultant
Samantha "Sam" Thomas comes with a great depth of knowledge in many areas of special education. Sam holds a bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders from Central Michigan University and a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from University of Redlands. She has worked in inpatient and outpatient therapy for Mary Washington Hospital as well as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the school setting.
After working in the schools, where she advocated for her students' needs, Sam decided to transition to work as a educational advocate and consultant. She found that her knowledge of the special education system and experience working with students with various disabilities of all ages allowed her a unique opportunity to help empower parents and initiate change for a better education system.
Sam has strong background in language and learning disorders as well her experience working with children of all ages and disabilities allows her to provide guidance on various aspects of educational needs. As an advocate, communication and negotiation are two of her strengths and she is always looking for the best way to help children make strong progress.
Finally, Sam is the mother of three boys and understands the important role parents play in the education of their children. She is excited to help other parents become educated, feel confident, and find their voice to advocate for their children's unique needs.
